Meet some of the wonderful artists who have exhibits at the
North Carolina Zoo.
- Did you know there’s more than just animals at the zoo? Since the Zoo’s birth, wonderfully talented artists have joined forces to bring exhibits for the enjoyment and education of thousands of visitors.
- Did you know these artists study and learn about animals and their environment? After years of studying their subjects, these artists have brought tangible, realistic pieces which are not intended to take the place of the living animals, but instead provides us with good representations of the animals that shows scale and animal behaviors.
- Did you know you can touch these exhibits? These exhibits are created to allow hands on experience in which you would normally not be able to touch. The experience of touching a White Rhino or a Chimpanzee, or getting your photo taken with a Lioness, is just as memorable as seeing them in the zoo.
- Did you know about the message? These artistic pieces educate and make us aware of the fragility of our environment, and the plants and creatures that live within it. They also make us aware of the chain reactions in our natural environment and our affect on it. Did you hear about the Carolina Parakeet?
