Mayia Warren, a 2024-2025 Artist Support Grantee, received support for “Take Me  Back”, an EP music recording that reimagines old school hymns and Sunday school

songs in the style of R&B and Neo Soul. “This grant opportunity has been such a  unique and empowering experience”, she shares. “The financial support and  pragmatic exposure that The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro has provided has  given me greater access to the community that I have served and lived in for years.  Being an independent artist is difficult at times financially, but this grant has  lightened a considerable amount of that load. This opportunity further reinforces  that we need each other to have an impact as a community.”
