Look What’s Happening at
Zimmerman Vineyards
June Events
Songwriter Sundays introduce new singer/songwriters who for-the-most-part evolved out of two genres: Tin Pan Alley pop (Carole King and Randy Newman) and post-Dylan folk music (Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Neil Young, and Cat Stevens).
The appeal of these artists was largely built on the cult of personality. These iconic artists were musicians who wrote, composed, and performed their own musical material, including lyrics and melodies, and who often appeared as soloists, employing either a piano or guitar for accompaniment. The singer/songwriter genre flourished from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s but declined in popularity as a product of the shortfall in new talent. Today many rising artists are emerging, following in the footsteps of their historic musical predecessors. Zimmerman’s Vineyard is proud to host a plethora of our local singer/songwriters who are overflowing with talent and eager share their musical inspirations! Admission is FREE!!!
