Do you play the Ukulele? Have you ever wanted to play? is 2 week experience is designed for those who would like to learn to play Ukulele as well as those who already play Ukulele. Make new friends and good music all while playing one of the most fun instruments around! (Pro- ceeds for this 2 week experience go to purchase Ukuleles for the Randolph Arts Guild). ( e Randolph Ukulele Players is a new group, which consists of regular everyday folks who want to meet and play Ukulele for the fun of it. 1 day a week from October 1- June 1) 6 days: Monday August 6 and 13, Wednesday August 8 and 15, and Friday August 10 and 17 (6:30 pm – 7:30 pm).
Crochet 101 with Grace Stamper 18+
Tuesday, August 7, 5-8 pm
$40 members, $ 45 nonmembers Enrollment Deadline is August 1.
Unravel the mystery behind the art of crochet as we break down the ve basic stitches behind seemingly complex crochet projects. We will work on building a stitch swatch while we progress through the stitches, so grab your H-size hook (and a friend or two!) and join us for an evening of fun! is class will cover the chain, single/double/triple and half-double crochet stitches. Students can repeat the class as many times as they wish! 3 student minimum.
The only supplies needed for the Crochet 101 class are:
h-size hook and 1 skein of yarn ( recommended brands are Caron Simply Soft and Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn) – not Red Heart.

It’s a flurry of fun as we begin to plan holiday crochet gi s! ese beautiful crochet snowflakes are perfect to give or to even attach to gi tags during the holidays! is workshop will cover how to use a diagram to make your own beautiful heirloom snow akes and the sti ening process. Several patterns will be sup- plied to pick from so you can create your own winter wonderland this year! Come join us as we begin our holiday crochet fun! 3 student minimum.
Hot Mess Painting with Debra Spinks 18+ 
Saturday, August 11, 11am-1pm $45 members, $50 nonmembers Enrollment Deadline is August 1.Sometimes you just have to let it all out even if it means making a Hot Mess! In this acrylic painting class, we will use layers of color and stencils to clean up our Hot Mess and come out on the other side with a beautiful painting. 3 student minimum.
Zentangle (R) Class Series with Lisa Skeen Ages 18+

NOTE: If you only choose to do one class, you may only take the rst class (August 11). e next two classes (August 18 and 25) are advanced as the three classes are a series!Discover the meditative mindfulness practice of Zentangle(r)! is three-week, hands-on class covers beginning, intermediate, and advanced Zentangle techniques, including 8 patterns per week, color, shading, and more! All supplies are included in the class fee, and students will go home with two finished pieces each week, so come join us! You don’t need drawing experience – if you can hold a pen and write your name, you’ll be successful! 3 student minimum.
Beginning Hand lettering: Copper Plate with Jetti York

Jetti York’s first Beginning Hand lettering class was a huge success, and she is offering yet another class! Jetti will teach you how to write in the Copper Plate Font. Slots will ll up very quickly so be sure to register asap! Only 12 students maximum. 3 student minimum.
Hand-spinning on a Drop Spindle with Le’Tonya Teague
Ages 6+ / August 18, 10am-Noon
$40 members, $45 nonmembers Enrollment Deadline is August 1.
Have you ever wondered where your clothes come from? In this class, Le’Tonya will teach students how to assemble and use a drop spindle to transform raw ber into yarn. All materials are provided: You will go home with your very rst drop spindle and wool to spin into yarn. Already have a drop spindle, or want to take all three Saturday classes? Cost for you is $20 (members)/ $25 (nonmember). 3 student minimum.
Circular Weaving with Le’Tonya Teague 
Ages 18+ / August 18, 1-4 pm $45 members, $50 nonmembers Enrollment Deadline is August 1.Weaving can be a simple process, or it can be di cult. Usually, tapestries are done on a square frame loom or oor loom. In this class, you will learn to weave on a circular loom! So sign up and try this challenge on for size! 3 student minimum.
Altered Books with Marcus Lawson

Do you like to repurpose objects? Have some old books lying around? Come on out to Archdale Parks and Rec and learn all about Altered Books! An altered book is a form of mixed media artwork that changes a book from its original form into a different form, altering its appearance and/or meaning. An altered book artist takes a book (old, new, recycled or multiple) and cuts, tears, glues, burns, folds, paints, adds to, collages, rebinds, gold-leafs, creates pop-ups, rubber-stamps, drills, bolts, and/or be-ribbons it. The artist may add pockets and niches to hold tags, rocks, ephemera, or other three-dimensional objects. Come join Marcus Lawson as he gives you tips and tricks to make one awesome altered book! Watch for announcements in the future for weekly altered book studio. Bring your own book, or the RAG will supply one. Call for a short materials and tools list. Cost is only $45 for members and $50 non-members Enrollment deadline is August 13th.
Crochet Workshop with Grace Stamper

Do you have a crochet project that is sitting in a basket un nished? Have you started one but are confused by the instructions? is crochet workshop is designed to help sort out the mess and help you nish projects that are just hanging around! Bring your pattern, project and supplies needed and join us for an evening of fun and crocheting. Students do not have to have taken a crochet course previously to attend. 3 student minimum.
Book Binding with Anne Murray 
Ages 18+ / Saturday, August 25, 10 am-4:30 pm
$110 members, $115 nonmembers

Longstitch Binding is a method of attaching folded pages directly to the cover that allows for unique and creative patterns on the spine. It also lends itself well to adding decorative elements (beads, unmatched earrings, ribbon, etc). Students will use book cloth or repurposed leather for the book covers. e class is guided through the planning and execution of each student’s unique spine design. e resulting books are highly functional as guest books, journals, sketchbooks, letters-to-grandchildren, garden planners, and much more! 3 student minimum.
Garden Rocks Mandala Style with Janice Brahms-Butler
Ages 18+ Tuesday, August 28, 6-8 pm
$50 members, $55 nonmembers Enrollment Deadline is August 17.
Come chill, relax, breathe deep, and RENEW while we create! Rock therapy is not only relaxing but also satis- fying. We will learn from where this art originated and how to create our own mandala for our gardens/homes/ stone markers. 3 student minimum.
