Brian Brown:

Artist bio: Brian Brown is a Multi-Disciplinary Artist from Asheboro, NC who holds his BA in art with a concentration in sculpture from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He spent some quality time studying the ocelots at the North Carolina Zoo as well as visiting the experts who take care of them. This valuable research was necessary in order to capture the texture of their coats, as well as the playful and familial characteristics of these cats.
Brian works as a sculptor with Carolina Bronze, but also works as a multi-media artist, using and creating beautiful unique and colorful pieces, that make a statement.
His love of creating and inspiring others to understand the beauty of creating and expressing themselves, has become forefront in his life and career. He does work on commissioned pieces as requested.

The ocelot sculpture is made up of a mother and two juvenile ocelots, showing the different attributes of these fascinating animals’ personalities. One ocelot kitten is poised on the rock in a hunting pose and the other is playing with the mother. The textures of the artists work on the ocelots coat allows for an interactive experience for guests.
