Pottery Jewelry and Miniatures Artist Renee Lewis Trunk Show June 17, 2016 5 to 8 p.m.

Curly fern artist, Renee Lewis, a North Carolina native, holds a bachelor’s degree in English. Past work includes technical writing, graphic design, and manufacturing of arts-and-crafts papers. She works from home in Randolph County, known for its natural clay deposits and world-famous potters. Where you find clay you also find ferns, hence the curly fern motif. Coming from a paper-crafting world, which has an intrinsic impermanence, she finds clay to be a delightful medium; it can be made into something usable and lasting. And, if you look closely at some of her handmade wares, it’s a fine way to leave her fingerprint on the world.
