BrushStrokes for KinderFolks with Kate Keith

BrushStrokes for KinderFolks. Sign Up Today! Announcing the eventful return of the BrushStrokes for KinderFolks program! Years ago, the Randolph Arts Guild was filled with the sounds of little ones creating art! The RAG and instructor Kate Keith are recreating the program! BrushStrokes for KinderFolks will be available as one class to begin with in the month of October for ages 0-5. As interest and enrollment grows, we will split the classes at different times for different age groups. The festivities begin on Tuesday September 11th and will meet each Tuesday. Below is all you need to know to sign up: Class meets monthly every Tuesday at 10:00 am. Cost is only $50 per month (members) and $60 per month (non-members). Can’t make it to September, Kate will be offering this exciting art class for your little ones for the month of November too! Enrollment deadline is September 29th for October classes.
Kindermusik with Ellane Campbell!
Starting on Thursday October 4th
from 10am and 11am
Kindermusik is Exploding in Popularity! Ellane Campbell will be teaching this music-filled class that will be celebrating the unique joys of your growing child. Each week your child will love singing, dancing, and playing instruments with you and their new friends and you’ll love helping them practice a wide variety of abilities such as gross and fine motor skills, turn-taking, social skills, and active listening. In class, we’ll also share tips and ideas for using music throughout the week. Plus, the fun (and learning!) continue with the Kindermusik@Home digital home materials, including music from class, musical activities, and each month’s story. Every Thursday of each month, a different four week theme unit is taught. Monthly Cost – $49 per RAG member child and $59 per non-member child.
Wiggle and Grow: Ages 0-4 and Family starting at 10:00 AM
Go, Go, Go! Ready? Set? Go, Go, Go! You can chug-a-lug, beep-beep, and swish your oars while you explore vehicle sounds and the stop-and-go, this-way and that-a-way movements of trains, cars, and boats. Buckle up, here we go!
Laugh and Learn: Ages 3-4 starting at 11:00 AM
On the Go!: Children always seem to be on the go, which makes this unit just their speed! You’ll use locomotor skills and active imaginations to drive in cars, chug along in trains, and bounce on pogo sticks. You’ll bumpity-bump, zippity-zoom, and stop-and-go-and-stop-and-go, because it’s non-stop learning when you’re On the Go!
Pottery Fundamentals with Brooke Avery

Have you ever been curious about clay? Want to get your hands into the mud and be creative? Then this class is just for you! Beginners will learn the fundamentals of pottery: wedging clay, centering the clay on the wheel, and pulling up the clay to make different forms. The three basic forms to make on the wheel are a mug, plate and bowl. After that, you should feel more comfortable with exploring different shapes and forms, such as jars, bottles, vases. This class in not limited to wheel throwing either, we will be going
over hand-building as well. Is there a project that you are wanting to make? We can do that too! We will also explore surface design, how to apply images, patterns, slips and glazes to the clay.
Cost of classes are $145 members, $155 non-members. Enrollment deadline for both classes are October 1. Limited wheel space, 3 students MAX! 3 hand-builders. 6 students max for entire class.
Crochet 101 Ages 18+ with Grace Stamper
Tuesdays, October 9 and 23, 5-8 pm
Pick one class time to attend (not a two-part class)!
Unravel the mystery behind the art of crochet as we break down the five basic stitches behind seemingly complex crochet projects. We will work on building a stitch swatch while we progress through the stitches, so grab your H-size hook (and a friend or two!) and join us for an evening of fun! This class will cover the chain, single/double/triple and half-double crochet stitches. Students can repeat the class as many times as they wish! Cost of class is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Enrollment Deadline is October 4th and 19th, with a 3 student minimum.
Crochet 200 Ages 18+ with Grace Stamper
October 11th, 13th and 25th, 2-5 pm
This is a 3-part class!
Soft, elegant, delicate, cozy, warm, and pretty – the Lattice Cowl is all these things! The 3-day course is designed to walk you through use of front & back post stitches to create a criss-cross raised effect on your project. An original design of Grace’s, it is great to make in bold, complementary or even variegated colors, perfect to suit any style! Cost of this class is $70 members and $75 non-members, with a 3 student minimum. Enrollment Deadline is October 8th.
Here There Be Dragons Ages 11+ with Cara Bevan
Saturday, October 13th from 10am – 3pm
Come and make relief-style dragons with Cara, the gourd artist! “Let there be dragons! In this class we’ll be creating our very own dragons. We’ll briefly learn about dragons and their qualities before designing our own on 5x7 inch wood panels. Once we’ve drawn them out, we’ll be sculpting them! We’ll use epoxy clay to create scales, armor, and spikes, plus add horns and glass eyes. We will also be painting them, so you’ll leave with a completed ferocious (or nice) creature to hang on your wall. Cost of this class is, $50 for members and $55 for non-members. Enrollment Deadline is October 5, with a 3 student minimum.
Beginning Ukulele Ages 6+ with Caitlin Hill
Every Saturday, October 13th – December 22nd
Come and learn to play the ukulele! This 10 week beginning ukulele class starts out with the basics of ukulele and slowly builds your knowledge and expertise in playing this lovely little instrument. This class is for beginners and does not require any previous music knowledge. Supplies: Students are recommended to supply their own soprano, tenor or concert ukulele. Questions pertaining to supplies, please contact RAG. Class that will not meet on 11/24. Cost of this class is $145 for members and $150 for non-members. Enrollment deadline is October 8th, with a 3 student minimum.
Autumn Birch Trees Ages 18+ with Leigh Blanchard

Held at the Archdale Parks and Rec facility in Archdale at Creekside Park!
Bring a friend to unwind with while getting in touch with your creative side. We will be creating a fall birch tree painting in your choice of colors using the tape resist method. Cost of this class is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Enrollment deadline is October 10th with a 3 student minimum.
Crochet 150 Ages 18+ with Grace Stamper

This is a one night class!
From the park, to the beach or even to mountain peaks, these crochet beanie hats are fun to make and fashionable! Join us as we learn to increase and continue to expand on the manipulations of the basic five stitches – chains, single/half double/double and triple crochets. These make great gifts or are perfect to wear when the weather turns chilly! Cost of this class is $50 for members and $55 for non-members. Enrollment deadline is October 12th, with a 3 student minimum.
Painted Pumpkins All Ages! with Kate Keith
Friday, October 19th from 5-8 pm
Forget the knives and carvers and grab the paint! Come decorate a little pumpkin of your own to fit a theme, a whim, a trick or a treat! Cost of this class is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Family of 4 Discount: $100 members/$110 nonmembers. Enrollment deadline is October 12th, with a 3 student minimum, *Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Come and learn yet another calligraphic font with the infamous Jetti York! Have you ever wanted to write your own cards? Wanted to make your handwriting look fancy? Handspinning on a Drop Spindle Ages 6+
with Le’Tonya Teague

Join Le’Tonya for some spinning fun! Have you ever wondered where your clothes come from? In this class, Le’Tonya will teach students how to assemble and use a drop spindle to transform raw fiber into yarn. All materials are provided: You will go home with your very first drop spindle and wool to spin into yarn. Already have a drop spindle? Cost for you is $20 (members)/ $25 (nonmember). Guitar Fundamentals Ages 11+

Come out and learn basic guitar from a talented musician! The guitar is a very fascinating instrument to listen to, and one that many have always wanted to learn to play. Whether you are a beginner or just want to know more about it, our 2 hour workshop will walk you through the basics of the guitar and how to care for it. Classical, acoustic or electric Wes will show you how it’s done. $20 members, $25 nonmembers. Enrollment Deadline is October 13th, with a 3 student minimum.
Kindness Rocks Ages 18+
with Janice Brahms-Butler

Janice Brahms-Butler guides you in painting rocks with positive messages. Come relax, chill and RENEW while we create! We will search for words & inspirational sayings, pick out rocks and let the journey begin with painting! Rock therapy is no only relaxing but also satisfying, fun to hide in your garden or hand to someone in church or at work! Cost of class is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Fabric Marbling Ages 18+
with Anne Murray
Saturday, October 27th from 10am – 4:30pm
Anne Murray is a master marbler! Come and learn all about marbling fabric! Learn the magic of marbling with acrylic paints. Marbling involves floating pigments on water and creating designs with a variety of tools. Create both traditional and contemporary patterns. Participants will leave with at least one lovely silk scarf that is wearable and washable and at least one cotton square suitable for sewing projects. Cost of class is $115 for members and $120 for non-members. Enrollment deadline is October 20th, with a 3 student minimum.
