RSVP Community Theatre announces auditions for Getting Sara Married by Sam Bobrick on January 11 & 12 at 7 p.m. at the Moring Arts Center, 123 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Alisa Smith McNeill will direct with Jaden Skelly serving as stage manager. Performance dates are February 26-28 and March 4-6 at the Sunset Theatre.
The plot revolves around Sara Hasting who is too busy to think about getting married. Her Aunt Martha is working overtime on the problem. She has chosen Brandon Cates to be her nephew-in-law, despite the fact that he is already engaged to Heather Boyd. A few bops on Brandon’s head are required to make the idea make sense. This bright and breezy comedy has the makings of a date night for audiences and holds a lot of fun for the performers..
Actors needed are: Sara Hastings (thirties), Aunt Martha (sixties), Noogie Malloy (a very special delivery man, forties), Brandon Cates (thirties), Heather Boyd (twenties), and the Chiropractor, a non-speaking role (no specific age).
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No preparation is required. Scenes from the play will be posted on the website at www.rsvptheatre.org for your convenience.
