2013 Second Quarter Drawing Sessions/ Ages: 18 & Up

Drawing Sessions are a self-guided opportunity to meet with other scribblers in a casual atmosphere.  Twice each month folks bring their own drawing supplies, a model is hired and everyone renders for about two hours.  These classes meet the SECOND and FOURTH Thursday of each month.  Class meets Apr. 11, 25, May 9, 23, Jun. 13, 27, from 6p -- 8p.  If you pay in advance it’s only $30 ($35nm) for all six sessions.  Or come when you like at $10 ($15nm) per session.

 

2013 Second Quarter Discover Exploring Your Emotions Through Art w/ Melissa Parrish/Grades K-5

Melissa Parrish is back to lead a supportive exploration into the world of creativity.  This class is perfect for that little creative person in your life who loves to express themselves.  Melissa is a licensed, professional counselor who works creatively with children to cultivate healthy lives.  Students will explore the concepts of emotions and feelings.  A variety of projects will link what’s going on in our insides, how emotions appear on our faces, and how we express ourselves through our art.  This class meets on Mondays from 5:30p -- 6:30p for six weeks: April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20.  All materials are provided.  Payment and completed registration are required for enrollment.  Enrollment deadline EXTENDED to Monday, April 15.  $45(m), $50(nm).

 

   

2013 Second Quarter Expressive Mark Making w/ Nancy Henderson/18 & up

This class will loosen up even the tightest of mark makers.  Artist Nancy Henderson is offering a class that explores creativity on a large scale.  And there will be no finished projects.  Whether you are beginner, professional artist, or something between -- Nancy will guide you in this supportive class of playful exploration.  The big classroom is set aside for big paper, big tools, and a variety of media.  Students will stand arms length from their paper and focus on keeping a healthy distance from their marks.  Automatic responses, uninhibited practice, basic elements of design & shape, and incorporation of feelings and emotion will all be covered.  This class meets on Saturday, May 18 from 10:30a -- 2p.  All materials are provided.  Bring a lunch.  Payment and completed registration are required for enrollment.  Enrollment deadline is Thursday, May 9.  $30(m), $35(nm).

   

2013 Second Quarter Continuing Watercolor w/ Ken Hobson/ Ages: High School & Up

Join popular instructor, Ken Hobson, whether you are new or seasoned for three separate watercolor classes.  Pick and choose whichever class you would like: Landscapes: April 13; Waterfalls: May 11; and Florals & More on June 8.  The classes meet on Saturdays from 10:30a -- 2p.  Each individual class is $30m ($35nm) or save some cash and sign up for all three for only $75m ($90nm).  Payment and completed registration form are required to be enrolled in the class(es).  Enrollment deadline EXTENDED to Thursday, May 9.  Bring a lunch.  Students are to provide their own supplies including paper towels and a 3 ring binder.  A suggested materials list is available.  An extra BONUS: bring in a watercolor project you are working on for additional suggestions/critique by Ken!  More on his website:  www.hobsonart.com .

   

 

2013 Second Quarter Spring Container Gardening w/ Susan & Bettina Ages: 18 & up

The winning combination of duo master gardeners, Bettina Hunter and Susan Garkalns is just what you need to learn the basics of constructing a beautiful shade and/or sun planter.  The two have volumes of experience in the flora field and judging from their popular lecture last fall, this spring class is not to be missed.  Take your pick -- the class will be offered twice on Wednesday April 10.  The first session is from 1p -- 3p.  Attendees are asked to bring a container (at least 12” x 12”) and enough fresh potting soil to fill the pot.  Payment and completed registration are required for enrollment.  Enrollment deadline is Wednesday, April 3 BUT we'll take you if you want to come.  $25(m), $30(nm).  This class is sponsored in part by Weston's Feed & Seed.
