Flute and Art Evening At Brightside Gallery—-Featuring Jeanette Egan—April 15, 2015—5 to 8 p.m.
Brightside Gallery will feature the exquisite flute music of Jeanette Egan. Jeanette has been a flutist for more than 25 years. She enjoys playing Bach and Handel and admires artist Theodor Geisel and Architect Samuel Sloan.
Jeanette will also be our featured artist during her concert hours. She started making fire biscuits two years ago when the family installed a wood stove in their house. Never having a wood stove before she quickly learned what it meant to restart a fire at 2 in the morning when you’re half asleep and cold. Hence the fire biscuit was born. With a background in architecture and engineering and access to paper destined for shredders and landfills, she put the concept of reuse and recycle to use. Now she produces and entire “bakery” of paper bricks from Fire Wafers to Fire loaves and all sizes in between for use in wood stoves, fireplaces, and campfires. Jeanette’s other crafts include “Color- It-Yourself” postcards and greeting cards featuring her floral illustrations. Jeanette’s work will be available for purchase during the evening.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
