Randolph Ukulele Players

Do you play the Ukulele? Have you ever wanted to play? is 2 week experience is designed for those who would like to learn to play Ukulele as well as those who already play Ukulele. Make new friends and good music all while playing one of the most fun instruments around! (Pro- ceeds for this 2 week experience go to purchase Ukuleles for the Randolph Arts Guild). ( e Randolph Ukulele Players is a new group, which consists of regular everyday folks who want to meet and play Ukulele for the fun of it. 1 day a week from October 1- June 1) 6 days: Monday August 6 and 13, Wednesday August 8 and 15, and Friday August 10 and 17 (6:30 pm – 7:30 pm)
Mark Dillon with “The Blues and Randolph County”

Asheboro, NC: Mark Dillon is a native of Indiana who started playing guitar at the age of 5, and after graduating, studied music as a profession. While in Valparaiso, Indiana he established the Songwriters Association of Northern Indiana (SWANI). Mark moved to Chatham County, NC and taught English and Band. He currently plays guitar and banjo with The Zinc Kings and is the Music Technology professor at Guilford Technical Community College. Join us at the RAG on Friday, November 9th from 6-8 pm in Gallery 101 to hear Mark talk about the history of the blues and its effect on Randolph County!
Songwriter Royalties with Wes Frank Norman

ATTENTION SONGWRITERS! Do you perform your work in the public? This 3 hour workshop will inform you of the legalities behind protecting your work as well as how to begin making money from your work. which is played in public. Did you know someone else could be collecting royalties on your songs, if the songs are not registered? We will also be having a small jam session so all students are asked to bring a song to play and their instrument if they would like (piano is provided). Instructors will be on site to educate you and help you begin collecting royalties you deserve. Minimum of 5 students
Beginning Ukulele-13 Week Course Ages 10+
Have you ever thought about learning to play Ukulele? This fun and mobile instrument was introduced to the Hawaiian Islands by Portuguese immigrants and has been part of the Hawaiian culture for over a century. It was brought to the U.S. in the early 1900’s and has been a big part of our pop culture ever since. This 13 week course will teach you all about chords, strumming patterns, techniques and much much more!! Each student must have their own soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele! $170 (members) / $180 (nonmember). Let us know if you are ready to begin a new and fun musical journey!
