Asheboro — North Carolina artist, Les Caison III begins 2016 with the fourth installation of his current body of oil painting and graphite illustration. The exhibition is titled “Looking Up”. It debuted in winter 2015 at the Turchin Center for Visual Arts on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone North Carolina. After several shows throughout the state, it opens at High Point’s Theatre Art Galleries with a free reception on Friday, January, 22 from 5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m. The exhibition includes 15 paintings of mixed media and nine illustrations on paper featuring imagery of stylized clouds and people. “This body of work explores the things that we have about us that move us forward. I have the elders’ talk, colorful confusion in the starlight, and the clouds moving above me. It’s all a wonderful dance” says Les Caison III. The exhibition runs January 22 though March 11, 2016 at the Theatre Art Galleries located at 220 E. Commerce Avenue in downtown High Point.
