NCPC – Flower Power opening reception (and more) Sat., March 12

unnamed(4)The official opening reception for Flower Power: Pottery & Plants will be from noon – 2:00 pm. Sales of pieces in the exhibition will begin at noon.

Other events Saturday include:

  • 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
    Learn about the wood firing process with Seagrove potter Chad Brown as he fires the groundhog kiln on the pottery center lawn. (Free and open to the public. Location: NCPC groundhog kiln.)
  • 10:30-11:00 am
    Tom Williamson of Flowers on Main (Troy, NC) will show visitors how to create floral arrangements that work with a variety of container shapes. (Free and open to the public. Location: NCPC Education Building)
  • 11:00-11:30 am
    Potter Kate Johnston (Seagrove, NC) will talk about her background in plein air painting, and how it aids her in creating bold floral motifs on her pots. If you missed her February slide talk at the Center, this is a great chance to get a glimpse of Kate’s process! (Free and open to the public. Location: NCPC Education Building)
  • 12:00-2:00 pm
    NCPC board member Mac McAtee will have select bonsai specimens from his personal collection on display. (Free and open to the public. Location: Main Building)
